Everything you need to know about character counting and platform limits.

Yes. The "Characters" stat counts spaces and all whitespace. The "No Spaces" stat shows your count with all whitespace stripped. Most social media platforms count spaces — use the Characters figure when checking against platform limits.

Standard X/Twitter posts are limited to 280 characters. X Premium subscribers can post up to 25,000 characters as long-form posts. URLs in tweets are shortened to 23 characters regardless of their actual length.

Google displays approximately 155–160 characters of a meta description in search results. Descriptions longer than 160 characters may be truncated with "…". Aim for 140–160 characters that clearly describe the page content and include your primary keyword naturally.

Reading time is estimated at 200 words per minute — a conservative average for online reading. The calculation is word count ÷ 200, rounded up to the nearest whole minute. A 1,000-word article shows as a 5-minute read.
